Classic Space Hulk blog #14 more Genestealers

No, I am not going to show every single one, I am merely showing that there is indeed progress to paint that bunch.

Classic Space Hulk blog #12 The Magus

Hey, look, it is Xenos-infested Santa Claus.  :-D  Today I have finished one of the classic Magi for the Genestealer Cult:

Classic Space Hulk blog #11

WIP: some people wanted to know how the new Acolyte arms fit on the classic Hybrids. The answer is: they do, but look a little small - unless you put some effort into it. I combined old Stealer arms with a shoulder pad of a Cadian Guardsman and the new parts.

I scratchbuilt a complete heavy bolter from parts of a new Neophyte heavy stubber and Astra Militarum grenade launcher parts as well as an old Ork boltgun (muzzle) and a Space Marine Scout's bipod. :-D

Classic Space Hulk blog #10 part II

The Cult rises! Finished off another set of models today. All weapon combinations shown are made for Space Hulk. However, since Genestealer Cults have just been reintroduced to Warhammer 40k, I figured that some Hybrids with pistols could easily carry some demolition charges in their free hands.

I did not have any of the new bits so these were built completely from scratch using masking tape, broken off 1st edition SH Terminator's antennas and some cut down RTB01 box Beaky Marine scanner device. How do you like them?

Another hybrid I finished today is carrying a Laspistol and Power Sword combination. For 40k he will count as regular Acolyte.

I also figured you guys would appreciate a shot of all Hybrids finished so far - so here you go:

And last but not least: the WIP shot and some preview on what's on the table ;-)

Classic Space Hulk blog #10

Following the last entry on my Space Hulk project I have now finally painted the other two "unarmed" Genestealer Hybrids (psykers). Again these were equipped with some tools so they don't have to engage empty handed. ;-)  Oh, the one guy is carrying what I imagine to be some sort of electronic torchlight. It has been assembled out of a Terminator teleport homer. The threaded bar the other Hybrid is holding as an improvised club has been taken off a Chaos Cultist. This time I played around with some rust effects made from strongly thinned Blazing Orange. What do you prefer? The rusty orange or the green rust (copper rust) I used in my last entry?

Classic Space Hulk blog #9

For the Space Hulk "Campaigns" addition I need a lot of Genestealer Hybrids with a variety of weapons. After counting and noting on a piece of paper the different loadouts I need to assemble I noticed that I need four unarmed Hybrids. In the "Campaigns" supplement the unarmed ones are psykers. Now I kind of figured that they probably would not run without anything to defend themselves with against the Imperium's forces sent after them. So, instead of "unarmed" I built my first two Hybrids that use improvised weapons.
Let's imagine that they were just taking whatever tools lay around them. Being part of a mining colony I thought digging equipment like shovels and pickaxes would be the most likely ones.

Classic Space Hulk blog #8

Time for more Space Hulk. In the wake of the return of the Genestealer Cults to the 40k universe, I have started to dig out the unpainted classics that belong to the "Genestealer" expansion of the core game. Using the modern miniature's paintjobs as a guideline, I came up with this bad boy. How do you like him?

I used some Imperial Guards bitz (speaker of a vox-caster and chainsword) and an old Space Marine Boltgun to which I added a shoulder-strap.
